Sleepover Breakfast Ideas
The ideas below will help get the ideas flowing so that your tweens end the party on a healthy and delicious note.
Fruit and Yogurt Buffet
Tweens love to make their own meals, and a fruit and yogurt buffet will allow your child and their friends to personalize their breakfast. Offer the children a variety of fresh fruit such as apples, oranges, grapes, pears, peaches, and bananas. They can choose their favorite fruits and mix them with yogurt for a healthy and yummy breakfast. Toppings such as granola, oat bran, and raisins will make the breakfast buffet even better.
Breakfast Casserole
A breakfast casserole is an easy way to feed a crowd on a budget. Find a casserole recipe that will appeal to your crowd and be sure to consider any food allergies or aversions when you choose your dish. A typical breakfast casserole will include eggs, meat, and cheese. Be sure to offer fruit on the side and glasses of fresh orange juice.
Waffles Bar
If you own a good waffle maker it’s easy and fun to whip up a batch of waffles for your hungry crowd. Make it fun by offering a few different toppings such as pecans, mini chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and fresh fruit. A variety of syrups would also make the waffles yummy and fun for the crowd.
Breakfast Pizza
If you have leftover pizza from the night before your tweens may be interested in finishing it off. Tweens love pizza, either cold or hot, and it’s a treat to eat it for breakfast. Or, consider making a breakfast pizza for your hungry crowd. Just buy pizza dough, and top it with scrambled eggs, cheese, and bacon or sausage. Bake until done, and let your tweens feast on a pizza made just for breakfast.
Breakfast to Go
You and your tween guests may not have enough time in the morning for a real breakfast. If that’s the case, be sure to give your partiers a breakfast-to-go bag as they leave in the morning. The bag can be filled with cereal bars, a juice box, a small piece of fresh fruit and a yogurt cup.
Oatmeal Their Way
Oatmeal can be a healthy and yummy breakfast for growing tweens. Make a pot of healthy oatmeal and then allow your tweens to add exactly what they want to make it their own breakfast creation. Toppings can include raisins, cream, applesauce, fruit, cinnamon, preserves, nutmeg, and nuts.
Bonus Tip for Tween Sleepover Breakfasts
Tweens love to cook and breakfast is a fun meal to prepare. Allow your tweens to break into groups to make eggs, pancakes and a fresh fruit bowl. Supervise but leave the bulk of the work to your young crew. Then join them for a breakfast made for and by tweens. Be sure the tweens also take charge of clean-up.
